Contest Notifications!

In MARCH 2022, friendlymooseHive account@friendlymoose, who had already been active in photo contests on Hive, began a weekly Curation Post listing photography contests on Hive. These can easily be found in his blog with titles beginning with "Hive Photography Contests" followed by the week covered. His overviews and links to the contests are helpful for anyone looking for photography contests to enter!

Now, another project has launched which can help find other contests on Hive! Follow the account contestboxHive account@contestbox (sprearheaded by yummycruz1Hive account@yummycruz1) to find Curation Posts focusing on writing, gaming, music, and more! Armed with both of these tools, hopefully all regular contests on Hive will be featured!

Not only are contests fun to enter, but they are helpful in growing one's account. They can provide posting 'prompts' when nothing else comes to mind, and the prizes are certainly useful!

Remember, too, that you can help these Curators find contests on the blockchain to include in their reports, and those who run the contests might appreciate additional sponsorship if you wish to offer prizes.

We in TheTerminal Discord are always pleased when some of our members launch projects to help others on-chain! It's always fun when we can help each other and grow together! BIG THANKS to friendlymooseHive account@friendlymoose and contestboxHive account@contestbox 🙂

Whether one has been on the blockchain for three days or three years, there are always questions! theterminalHive account@theterminal, founded in December 2018, is a project that answers questions people have about the workings and etiquette of participating on the Hive blockchain. We answer questions about use of the Discord app, as well. A few users of Hive's 'legacy blockchain' have also sought assistance. Everyone is welcome.

Those who delegate to theterminalHive account@theterminal will be awarded a "Terminal Supporter" badge on their blockchain profile, the "Patron" role in our Discord server, and our humble gratitude.

The sister-project to TheTerminal is heyhaveyametHive account@heyhaveyamet (HHYM), founded in October 2018 and still going strong. The goal of HHYM is to look through the #introduceyourself posts of those new to the blockchain and welcome the new arrivals and gather links to their introductory posts in a daily curation post. New accounts are carefully checked for effort, plagiarism, and account-farming before being featured.

When new users arrive on the Hive blockchain, they have no initial HivePower (HP) unless some is delegated to them. Users with no HP are allotted so few Resource Credits (RC) that only a few posts or comments will have them running out of RC quickly. This is counterproductive to growing an account and establishing a presesnce on the blockchain. rc-assistHive account@rc-assist exists to help fill that void by delegating a small amount of HivePower to those new Hiveans. The amount will vary slightfly, depending on circumstances, but will range between 20 and 100 HP. Once the delegatee has grown their account enough to be self-sufficient, the delegation will be withdrawn to support other new accounts.
