The U.S relations with Africa with Donald Trump as president 🤔

To the United States of America they just had Donald Trump as president but to Africa, they see "Mr Africa is a shit hole nation" is back. Remember when he made that statement at the white house in 2018. It was regarding immigration and in his new term of office he's very focused on dealing with immigration seriously.

But he is using a good tactics to handle US relations with Africa. Trump is more focused on making deals with nation leaders than dealing with international groups like the United Nations. Well if you think about it, it's a very efficient approach to ensuring that nations work together well because the leaders will determine what the countries do so he might as well go directly to them.

But I also see the approach having a flaw. It becomes a very centralized, non democratic style since it's only leaders that would be involved in decision making and not the majority of the people in the nations.

It pushes away human rights and democracy and we know these are very necessary in maintaining peace. Take Sudan for example, I hope things get better but you can tell that peace is almost unlikely as long as powerful allies from the Middle East keep fueling conflicts and each supporting different sides with both money and powerful weapons.

I don't know if Trump's decisions during this four year term in office could actually help countries like Sudan and Ethiopia find peace. I believe it’s possible, but it doesn’t seem likely that he would tackle the core issues that drive these conflicts. He would probably just make deals with individual leaders and it could be a temporary fix but might rekindle again with the slightest provocation from any of the countries at war.

Trump might want to play the peacemaker in a crisis, but there’s a chance these deals might leave Africa in a deeper mess. His moves are a bit shallow but it does the trick as long as both sides can maintain peace and be honest regarding the deals.
