What Is The Lie You Told Yourself For Years Just To Stay Comfortable?

Often times we are faced with different life situations that pushes us to tell ourselves we are fine even when we are not or situations we choose not to accept because that will make us feel more comfortable and less anxious, hence the question, What is the lie you told yourself for years just to stay comfortable?

Lying to ourselves sometimes is what makes us scale through some situations and that’s one real thing we can’t deny. Yes, we know deep down that things are not fine but we choose to tell ourselves that everything is fine and will be fine and we even act that way.

We’ve all been there before. That situation when someone scams us of our money and we tell ourselves it is nothing or that moment when we missed an opportunity that could change our lives forever and we say another one will come when deep down we wish we didn’t miss that one. Or that one person we cherish so much but tell ourselves we don’t need them.

• So take a moment to think about that one lie you keep telling yourself or you’ve always told yourself that made you feel better.

• Do you think that lie is helping you scale through that situation?

• Why did it feel so necessary at the time to lie to yourself?

• And finally, what forced you to drop that lie or what’s making you still hold on to that lie?

So here’s the challenge: Sometimes telling ourselves the truth is hard but it will help us fail forward rather than remaining stagnant.
