Anyone who sees Mr. Pat would know that there is something serious going on. Dangling his keys as he walked through the street, his walking steps were firm and fast; he was definitely going for an urgent job.
Mr. Pat is the oldest welder in my community; he actually trained every other welder in this place. He should be around seventy-five years old but he shows up at his workplace every day. According to the testimonials from his many students, he is a good man. One of his students who now has his own fabrication plant told me how his Boss usually refers him for jobs without asking for any payment from him.
On this day however, Mr. Pat was called by the king of my community to help open a lock. It was an old lock; very rusty. The key to the lock has long been lost and every attempt to break it proved futile. The safe which was locked with the lock was rumoured to contain some rare gems which had long been spoken about. Everyone wanted to know what was actually inside the safe; in fact, the whole community gathered at the palace.
Mr. Pat having arrived at the palace observed the lock and decided that the only option was to cut the lock. He informed the king of the solution and without thinking about it, the king thundered,
"CUT IT NOW!".
The welder went to work and 30 minutes later, the lock hasn't yet been cut open. Mr. Pat having lots of experience kept trying various techniques and 2 hours later, the lock was finally cut. But there was a new problem......
If only the king had known, he wouldn't have given the order for the lock to be cut open.
