OLD BARN β 049. revisited & expanded
In my last post, I mentioned how everything in this world is ephemeral, and how many old barns just get older and eventually fall down (or are demolished when they become unstable). But, that last post showed how someone converted an old barn to a cute little house. Here, we celebrate another of my old barns that has been upgraded and improved!
Even when I first wrote about OLD BARN β 049 here on Hive, I realized from GoogleMapsβ’ that it had already been remodeled. I showed the "Street View" from GoogleMapsβ’ near the end of the post, but had not yet driven past the barn to get my own photo, but now I have!
So, let's look first at how the barn appeared when I initially discovered it. The following photos show my original shot (left) and after some cleanup of the branches eclipsing the view (right):
Some years later, the barn had been given a fresh coat of paint to protect it against the elements and it looks so good! An addition has been built on the left-side of the barn, giving the owner of the barn more space for storage, an office, or maybe a workshop for tinkering or building things. It is lovely, what they did to remodel this charming barn! My original photo is it is on the left, below, and the enhanced image with tree-branch removal is at below-right.
I think the remodeled barn is gorgeous! π
The following shot shows the row of Crepe Myrtle trees that line the road at the edge of the property, the ones I had to look through to see the barn. They are lovely little trees that produce pretty, long-lasting flowers during the summertime.
The following screenshot from GoogleMapsβ’ shows the location of the property, the barn, and that row of trees.
It warms my heart to see fabulous old structures cared for and the history of the area preserved. It's also nice when the barns are being used for something, even if it's just storage space. So, "Kudos!" to the owners for keeping this beautiful barn intact!
