With words, so calm, so real
So soft and tender to behold.

You told me you've come to stay.
You promised to dress me in white
Before sons and daughters of men
And say, "YES I DO" before God and humans.
I trusted your cheap sweet lies
I opened my broad arms for you.
I gave you every part of me
I inconvenienced myself for you
But today
I cry while others sleep
For the future, painted so bright and white
Has turned grey and dark.
Here I stand with a heavy and broken heart.
For love too fragile, built on sharp sand
Has made me empty and nothing more.
