Terracore: Devlog #37 - The Forge: New Item Upgrade System🔧

Hello, Fellow Citizens!

Hope everyone is having a great week! As you may have noticed, we have been working on a new system for Terracore to provide more use cases for your NFTs & $FLUX. Today, we would like to introduce a system called the FORGE, which I will explain in the post below.

THE FORGE

The forge is a straightforward system added to the in-game Inventory UI. When clicking the tick-box next to an item, you will now see an option to upgrade your items! This will open up a modal that will allow you to upgrade an item.

You will then be presented with the cost, along with the changes that will occur to your balance and item's stats.

On a successful upgrade, you will see the new stats and some success pop-ups to let you know the item has indeed been upgraded.

When viewing your inventory or the marketplace, you will now also see the level of the item in the interface.

MATH AND CODE

Each level of an upgrade increases an item's stats by 5%. Each upgrade has a $FLUX cost that is easy to calculate based on the level of the item and the salvage value:

value * 0.05 * item.level

80% of the $FLUX used on upgrades is BURNED to null 🔥.
20% of the $FLUX goes to the team for development funds.

This adds a new interesting META to the game and keeps the gameplay systems SIMPLE. When I started creating Terracore, I truly believed simplicity is key for us to continue attracting new players. If the game is too difficult, it becomes hard to explain to a friend.
