SECOND HELPING OF PUDDING

At the southern area of California, between the woods and a brook, stood Mrs Victoria Cottage, renowned for its legendary pudding. Every Sunday, the sweet aroma of her homemade dessert filled the air, drawing the townsfolk. Children lined up at her door, bowls in hand, eager for a taste.

One Sunday, a boy named Tommy reached the front of the line. Mrs Victoria handed him a bowl of warm, luscious pudding. After savoring each spoonful under a large oak tree, Tommy decided to try for a second helping. He had heard that Mrs. Victoria occasionally granted extra servings to the most polite children.

Returning to the cottage with his empty bowl, Tommy mustered his courage. “Mrs Victoria, your pudding is the best I’ve ever had. May I please have a second helping?”

Mrs Victoria, with a twinkle in her eye, smiled. “Well, aren’t you sweet? Let’s see if there’s enough left.”

She disappeared into the kitchen, leaving Tommy to wait anxiously. Moments later, she returned with a smaller but full bowl. “Here you go, dear. Enjoy!”

Tommy’s face lit up with joy. “Thank you so much, Mrs Victoria!” he exclaimed, dashing back to his tree.

As he enjoyed his second helping, Tommy felt a warm sense of contentment. It wasn’t just the delicious pudding that made him happy; it was the kindness of Mrs Victoria and the magic of California. From that day on, he knew that sometimes, the second helping was even more delightful than the first.
