MY INTRODUCTORY POST ON HIVE

Hello hive! @temi-madelles just arrived. I am from Nigeria. It is nice to be here, finally. I am from Ogun state precisely.

I am 14years old and will be 15 soon, by God's grace. I am currently in high School. I am an art student.
I want to introduce myself and glad to let you into my life here on hive. I am a newbie. I am the first child of a family of four. I have just one sister. I love her so much although sometimes we argue a lot but she is my one and only sister.

Lest I forget, I am the first daughter of @adoore_eu. Every time, I watch her make posts for hive. She started with Steemit, she was a cook and still a foodie. Everytime, i read with excitement, posts and comments from hive, I ask God when i will grow up and own my own account.

My family is a small one, but we are fun loving people and for us, family is everything. I love my cousins and i am in between an introvert and an extrovert, I make friends but only when i study and see that their ways align with mine. I am a happy kid.

When in primary school, i was consistently brilliant. At least i thought so, but when i entered secondary school, especially when i found myself in Sciences, my grades went down. I could not cope with chemistry, physics and mathematics. I did well cramming the first 20 elements and some laws but they were not enough to give me the grades my parents wanted.lolz

However, when i was tossed back to Arts, my grades came back. Now i am glad i am one of the best Literature, Government and especially French students in my school. Now my parents are happy with my grades and look at me and say they are proud of me. lolz
Initially, i feared i was a disappointment, thank God i am not. I am going places and I wont let disappointment be my portion.

How I came about my username.

Originally, my name is Temiloluwa Uloma Rachael I love those names so much. However, Madelles is an abbreviation i formed from the name ' Madeleleirimi' lolz. That is a Yoruba name meaning ' i will reach my promised land'. All those times i was not doing well in Sciences, i almost lost hope in education. Going to school seemed pointless and boring. No matter how hard i tried, i seemed not to get it right. And my mom @adore never ever made things easy as she was always charging me up to be better. I read not only to do well but to please my parents and to make them proud. To the extent that she bought me a book written by Benjamin Carson titled 'You Have a Brain'

The book helped me to understand that when I feed my brain with things that are beneficial, I would be able to get the grades that I wish to have.

Then one day, on my way to school, I saw the name of a cyber cafe named ' Madeilelerimi so i asked for the meaning and heard it meant ' I will reach my promised land', for sure i will get there.

Yes Madeilelerimi i will reach my promised land, and I will get better blessings ahead. Hence my username Madelles for short, with Temi as prefix.

My Hobbies

I love dancing, I hope there is a dance community here?

I learnt there is a singing community, I love watching hive users like Aunties @merit.ahama and @princessbusayo singing and also @deraaa. Each time I listen to them with Mum, I remix the songs. Mum sent one to Aunt @deraaa on discord sometime ago.

Reading novels is another hobby that i enjoy. I read novels from Wattpad, Light reader and Novel Up. I enjoy thrillers, urban, fantasy, adventure and so on. As for sports, people believe with my height I should join the our school's basketball team but then in order to put up my grades I always slipped away from try-out practice. I wonder if I must play basketball because I am tall,

But I enjoy watching it and I like the game.
I also skip, my sister and I skip most times in the house, my best chore is cleaning the bathroom and the chore I hate most is dish washing lolz 😀 I use my free time for volunteering and enjoy geeing and hawing with my homies. I also enjoy cooking.

At other spare times when I am not reading, I enjoy using gadgets eg my phone. Mama @adore is never dataless. Lolz. We tease her with it. So she connects us on Netflix sometimes I use Snapchat to make dashing photos of my sister and I, or even watch TikTok videos which are entertaining.

Who put me onboard

My one and only mother @adoore-eu . It is good to be finally here. She said I was too young, needed to face my studies, this and that but now I have a phone and she is guiding me to put it to better use at my free time, rather than play much on TikTok and Facebook.

My blog in future

Expect stories, expect fun from my sister and I. I can also share my experiences in school, at home, songs, dance and many more. I'll never forget to balance things with my studies though. I look forward to making friends, engaging well and learning from everyone here on hive. I also hope to try and engage better now that I am on holidays, giving you fun from my end.
