Singapore debuts the first Bitcoin banknotes
On Thursday, Singapore became the first country in the world to release a bitcoin banknote.
Manufacturer of Tangem digital banknotes announced the launch of the bitcoin banknote.
With its head office in the cryptugglin Zug in Switzerland and Hong Kong, Tangem is also present in Singapore, China and Russia. The company says it will release 10,000 such banknotes to partners and distributors around the world. Tangem explains that intelligent bitcoin banknotes are as safe and secure as a normal banknote. The company advertises simplicity of use with a touch of a banknote with an NFC phone.
The transfer of banknote ownership is an anonymous and immediate process.
The Contest Opens has long offered a physical product that serves a same purpose but which has the shape of a USB.
The Tangem hardware is based on Samsung's S3D350A chip. According to the company this is the first product for the market that meets EMVCo and EAL6 + safety standards.
Like any other product in the world of cryptomanns, gaining user credibility is security auditing and source code publishing.
Currently, Tangem has published the iOS and Android app's code in GitHub.
