As mankind evolved through the ages, one of the many proofs that shows we're human is the ability to empathize, the ability to see and feel what other people (human kind) are experiencing .

Empathy : The ability that makes us truly human

I've seen people do some crazy unspeakable stuff to fellow human in the quest for more money, power and control.
we are so engulfed in the "self at all cost " frenzy paying no heed to the tenets that makes us truly human

Humanity goes beyond race, social beliefs, religion, political affiliation, social class or location.

A brief evaluation of the life of Christ (my reference) when He was on earth as a man only shows or proves to us to extent of His human sympathy. At each point in His course as recorded in the Holy Book, there was always an instance of Compassion, Joy, Sorrow, Love and Understanding.
The world evidently would be a better place if we become a tiny little but more sensitive to the suffering in the ghetto, the homeless on the streets, the beggar on the walk way, the kid who hasn't eaten a meal in days, a friend in dare need.

If we loose the stuff that makes us human, then we're lost.
