Deir ez Zor saved from ISIS
The last major city still endangered by ISIS has been reached by the Syrian army. Whether you love or hate Assad is not the issue. Some estimates have ISIS losing as many as 10,000 troops, in wave after wave of attacks against a city under siege for more than two years. In many ways the Syrian war was lost by ISIS upon the rock called Deir ez Zor. Where you at Hollywood? For courage, training, and resolve the Tiger forces appear to be unmatched. Had ISIS breached the city defenses they would have slaughtered 10's of thousands. Any way you slice it, lifting the siege is a great thing. Couldn't have been done without the Russian air force keeping the ISIS air force at bay.
