TeamGood Monthly Report - August 2018

TeamGood was founded in the fall of 2017 by @battleaxe as an alternative to the mostly garbage seen on the trending page, to spread good in the 'hood, and to help the helpers on the Steem blockchain.

Around the time it began being used as a tag, she published this post and this one and this one, which are obviously well past payout but are still worth revisiting if you want to know what we're all about.

Over the spring of 2018, @ancapbarbie created the @teamgood account and gave the keys to @battleaxe. They and Steem Witness @sapphic also built a Discord server around two custom bots with intent to automate/simplify our voting because most of us have very busy lives outside of our work on the Steem blockchain. All of our members:

It is growing quickly.

We are publishing a monthly report of our activities, which are of course publicly visible on various websites which access the Steem blockchain. We like SteemWorld by @steemchiller and SteemReports by @andybets for their comprehensive amounts of available information and their ease of use.

Witnesses We Support

The @teamgood account currently votes for 21 Witnesses. We can explain in detail why we support each of them, and also why we are not supporting some others at this time.

If you are fairly new to the Steem blockchain, we cannot overstate the importance of voting for good Witnesses who care about its long-term viability. You can set a responsible proxy (like @teamgood 😘) if you are unfamiliar with Witness voting, but we highly recommend doing your own research and supporting Witnesses who share your views and interests.

Both @ramblingradio and @msp-waves frequently host highly informative Witness discussions on their websites and Discord servers.

Projects We Support

We are moving toward applications of the blockchain other than blogging. That being said, there are still plenty of projects on Steem's blogging front-ends that we feel increase the value of the blockchain, and as a result of Steem and SBD as well.

was founded by @sapphic to help promote #diversity on the blockchain. She is also a two-headed monster Steem Witness with @underground.

Over the next few days, @many-voices will be merging with @teamgood, where we will be curating and promoting the #many-voices tag on Steem's blogging front-ends.

We consider it a sobering responsibility to treat these delegations with care and only use them to upvote quality content.

We also believe that sometimes doing good means fighting evil, and use this Steem Power to downvote plagiarists, spammers, and abusers when it seems that nobody else will.
