Fun Friday Light Painting

Fun Friday Light Painting

Yesterdays proedue went well, got rid of the bad skin and only 9 stitches, its throbbing a little this morning but not to bad and will heal quickly

Happy Friday today I will share some light painting shots , these are not new ones I have done this year but some I did last year, and had edited but not shared yet

So what is light painting let me try to explain, actually let me cheat and copy and paste how I explained it in a previous post and was happy with it lOL

Light painting is basically photography’s rebellious cousin who skipped art school and went straight to rave school. Instead of brushes and canvas, you use flashlights, sparklers, glow sticks, or anything that creates light
You set your camera on a tripod, open the shutter for a few seconds or minutes, and then whoosh, you draw in the air with light. The camera sees all the glowing trails and goes, “Oh, cool, I’ll just record that like it’s normal.” And voilà—you’ve got a photo that hopefully you think is cool .

It’s like finger painting, but for grown-ups who still believe in magic or for grown ups who are still kids at art and like to have fun.

Or possibly more likely in my case, for someone like me with no artistic ability who thinks doing these is perhaps the best art I will ever do lOL.

I still havent done any new ones this year yet, or even loaded up the car with all the gear, but when I do get out I will try and take some shots of the gear I use along with doing a video of me doing it,

Starting at the pier by the boat Ramp

The letters are for New Bedford MAssachusetts

and the pier again from another angle

I dio enjoy doing light painting there, but always keep a good watch on my camera since I have to walk out on the pier for the light painting and would hate for someone to do a quick drive up steal my camera and drive off

the Fort makes a good back drop for light painting
