To Farm and Back Again

And zero tasks were done.

The plan was to get started on the next phase of the basement clean-up and floor painting project, but instead, I did nothing and went to a farm in the country for a slice of cake instead. I guess that is something worthwhile also, since it was okay weather, decent cake and we got to see a few random animals. There were actually a lot of people there, as it is in a drop in spot for a lot of travellers and they sell their vegetables and lots of handicraft kind of things made relatively locally - as well as some that just look homemade.

They grow lots of things, but during late-autumn after they have harvested the corn, they make a cornfield maze with clues to follow for the kids. Torches are needed and it might be very wet, but they also have fresh, roasted corn on the cob - my favourite. Fresh corn is not often available here, and when it is it is far too expensive. The common corn on the cob comes pre-boiled and vacuum packed.

When in Rome...

Chickens are evil.

There were sheep, rabbits and curious chickens to have a look at. All of them had names and were pretty cute. Seems like they are part of the family and well looked after - despite the look of death from Elsa.

After the farm, I suggested we drop into a car museum on the way home. It is a small museum with a couple dozen donated cars, and there is also café there where we had some loaded fries and ice cream for afternoon tea.

My favourite car there is a silver '64 Stingray. I am not a fan of Corvettes in general, except those from the 1960s - they are awesome.

A lot of car enthusiasts drop by on their various road trips as well as many locals. So they do a thing where you can have your own mug made and keep it on a shelf for your next visit. Lots of nicknames, car logos and dates on them. This picture was just a small selection of them.

And to finish off the day, we went up to the lookout to take in the lake view. The weather was closing in a bit and the wind picking up, but it was still nice.

I guess I start the work tomorrow instead?
