Taken by Waves

Eventually we all run to the sea,
From mountain top, to forest deep.
It is from whence we have come,
And we have believed we have escaped;
A delusion based on finite view.

Each wave crashes upon the sands,
The cliff face, or against the prow.
Repeated endlessly infinite times,
Shaping the world before we laid claim.
But Never will it be ours to hold.

Shore destroyed and depth discovered,
Secrets bared, eternity interrupted.
To steal and plunder and take it all,
To break and leave cycles corrupted.
There is no crushing eternity.

Eventually we all run to the sea,
Mountains fall, and forests burn.
We will return to whence we arrived,
Forever trapped in a jar larger than us.
Our delusion intact as we disappear.
