한 사람의 쓸데없는 '박애정신', 이를테면 생면부지의 새로운 사람에 대한, 이 대개 그 사람 주변의 사람들을 힘들게 만드는 경우가 빈번히 발생한다. 그들은 자신이 낯선 사람들에게만 배타적으로 베푸는 그것에 박애나 포용이란 오명을 부여하면서 바로 그것이 실은 자기 옆에 지금껏 머물러 주어 온 사람들에 대한 자신의 치사한 이기심에 지나지 않는 줄을 모르는, 또는 모르고 싶어한다.
