Catastrophic beginnings in the PSL
In the T20 format, getting off to a fast start is often crucial to a team’s chances of winning. However the best laid plans don't always pan out as we'd like.
Below is the list of The lowest powerplay scores in the PSL from 2016 through to the current 2021 season.
1st & 2nd - Peshawar Zalmi
PZ's scores of 20 both against Lahore in 2017 & 2019 season respectively are record lows for the tournament. Perhaps most bizarre though is the fact that despite these very slow starts PZ managed to win both fixtures!
3rd Quetta Gladiators
Lahore again were the bowling team against QG (21 runs), meaning that they have inflcited the 3 lowest PP scores in the history of the PSL.
4th Islamabad United
This was in fact the opening match of the Pakistan Super League back in 2016 with the very first 6 overs going for just 22 runs.
5th Karachi Kings
Even the starstudded KK line-up couldn't get moving in this match as the likes of Babar Azam and Chris Gayle laboured to 23 runs.
