What would happen in 2140

I have a quick shower and run out to know more of what is happening. Mom walks in stirring the hot chocolate mug. "Mum, tell me everything right now." I was very desperate to know.

She begins, " You remember the cold war right?" I just nod. " The world got split into two halves, we had bombings all around. Nuclear weapons were used in many of them, leading to radiation spreading in the entire world. Everything was destroyed, we couldn't save anything. You were out with your friends, that's all i know after which you were shifted directly to the CRYO facility." The gravity of the situation dawned upon me. I started to think where was i? What was i doing? I couldn't remember anything. My mom said,"Don't push too hard, most of our memories have faded. We haven't used our brains for more than 150 years, do you think it would function as normal?"

"150 years? Are you kidding me? I didn't imagine of living that long!" I was in a different emotional state, I felt sad, happy, furious, curious all at the same time. "How do you remember such details of the past and i dont remember a bit?" I was now getting restless. "Its the time, I woke up 5 years ago. You would need another 5 years to re develop your own brain" mum said with a cheeky smile.

All i could think of it was that this was a prank being played on me. I walked out the door to find out more. The world truly had changed, it wasn't my neighborhood. Everything was different. I couldn't recognize anyone or anything. Then I saw the most nerve wrecking thing i ever thought about. "God save us!" The only thing that came out of my mouth.
