The beaches of Aceh are very beautiful and natural. One of them is Lhok Mee Beach or also known as White Sand Beach. This beach is located in Lamreh Village, Mesjid Raya District, Aceh Besar District.The distance is approximately 40 km from the city of Banda Aceh or about 1 hour drive. There is no public transportation to get here. So we have to ride private vehicle or rent from travel agent. Because the access road is good enough, we can use two-wheeled vehicles or four wheels to near the beach.
Before reaching Lhok Mee Beach, we will cross Bukit Suharto, so called because during the reign of the Second President of the Republic of Indonesia he participated in the idea of ​​greening this hill.From the top of Suharto Hill we can enjoy the beautiful waves of the high seas, Bukit Barisan in the distance, large ships and fishing boats at Malahayati Harbor.Down the Suharto Hill, to the left of the road is the entrance gate to Lhok Mee Beach. Entrance fee Rp 5.000 per person. Not far from the gate, we begin to be greeted by a stretch of white sand beach.

Lhok Mee beach is still very natural. If in general the beaches in Aceh are decorated with rows of pine trees, Lhok Mee Beach is actually decorated with geurumbang trees that grow in the sea. Geurumbang trees appear to grow in the sea during high tide.On the beach there are lodges that can be rented to just sit enjoying the unique Lhok Mee Beach while enjoying the fresh young coconut water.
