WAFF (World Amputee Fitness Festival) is an annual gathering that takes place in Chiang Mai, Thailand from first Monday to the second Friday, of November every year. The event is described as an experiment in promoting fitness & sports within the amputees, and in the world community as well.
WAFF 2018 will be held from 05 November 2018 to 16 November 2018.
The festival is open to Amputess & Non-amputees alike. The festival is governed by the three key principles:
- participation & collaboration
- self-reliance and self-expression
- community cooperation & civic responsibility
At WAFF, fitness enthusiasts (including amputees & differently abled people) from all over the world come together to host and participate in various events including, but not limited to Running, Swimming, Cycling, Hiking, Weight lifting, bodybuilding, Yoga, Dance, Badminton, Table Tennis, Basketball, Rock climbing, Muay Thai, Boxing etc.
Amputees take a key role in promoting fitness activities and providing motivation through action to all participants from the world community.
