Glass

It can come in all shapes and forms, but it always seems to send one message: Time. An hourglass has sands, ticking down each second, making each one seem as precious as your last. Then there's a wineglass, you just sip away at expensive tastes in luxury, or perhaps to celebrate an event, savoring each moment that even a drop is left in your mouth. Perhaps you can even compare it to a glass window, so delicate looking and yet so firm, standing headfast until the moment it realizes it is not immortal and shatters.
