Jo'burg's taste of elegance - Johannesburg (The Palazzo Montecasino)

Be their guest, and allow them to put your worries to a rest. Allow this 5 star hotel + casino to serve you with a top class service as you visit Johannesburg. Seeing from the pictures, the Palazzo wasn't a high rise building, nor was it new infrastructure so expectations were low from the beginning of this journey.

From the entrance of the hotel, the hotel's lobby was fully enclosed. Stepping off from my bullet proof car that the hotel arranged me with, I was very jet lagged from the 20 hour flight and could not wait to jump into the bet sheets.

With a drowsy eye, I swung the doors open and walked into an unprecedented lobby with great high ceiling, and one of the most intricate and grandiose chandeliers I've seen to date. A lobby so elegantly decorated, I couldn't wait to explore what the hotel had for me.

A different angle of the lobby, facing towards the entrance. The chandelier truly mesmerizes you, as the crystals bounce off the light, twinkling in the middle of the lobby.

After checking in, I walked pass the lobby, into another grand scale of a Christmas tree that rose all the way to the ceiling. Decorated to the brim, every branch hung a bauble or two, and lights lighting up the entire room with its merriment of the holiday feeling.

The Breakfast with a view

Being a hotel located in the city, The Palazzo isn't close to any lakes, rivers, mountains, or the sea. Rather solely reliant on its infrastructures and the decorations the hotel has, they've proudly maintained their facade with an exquisite restaurant.

The indoors has a high ceiling, with immense windows ready to pour in sunlight as you order a sunny side up. Trees as tall as the windows are planted in the middle of the restaurant keeping the tropical vibe indoors.

But if you can you must try your breakfast outside. Serene, calm and tranquil but with a view, this breakfast brought me back to the chateaus in Europe.

Their range of vegetable and vegetarian menus are widely available and with top notch quality.
