Many people were hesitant about cultivating Aman this time as all the crops of the area were submerged under the floods last year. According to the information, aman paddy has been cultivated in 6 unions of the upazila in 4 unions. The Atrai area is considered as a flood-hit area. On the other hand, the farmers have been reassured by getting enough oil and fertilizer to the dealers of the upazila. Atrai is at the top of food production in Naogaon district.

But this time, there is a possibility of bumper yields due to no major floods. We think we will benefit greatly and be able to recover the loss of the past.
Atrai Upazila Agriculture Officer KM Kausar said, "We are keeping a close watch on the farmers so that the farmers can get benefit in the cultivation of Aman paddy. Wherever there is a problem, our presence and problems are being taken swiftly. We have always been advised to use the fertilizers in particular, to save water, and to seek the farmers in the overall care, especially for the fall. This time there is no moderate pork attack in the Atrai area. As a result, we are expecting a bumper yield of Aman paddy in record quantity of land.
