'Bipolar Disorder' on the Chain

Another piece from my Mental Health collection...

Bipolar disorder (BD) is a severe mental health disorder which belongs within the category called mood disorders. 2.4% of the population globally is diagnosed with BD. It is declared that BD causes more disability-adjusted life years than all kinds of cancer. BD is a mental illness that has symptoms of emotional instability such as cycling periods of mania and depression. The daytime scene of the piece represents the mania phase: diminished desire for sleep, delusions, irritable mood. The night time scene represents the depression phase: fatigue, sleep disturbance, hopelessness, guilt and thoughts of death.
