The Night at Night (Night Photography)

I have always wondered why the night time feels different. There is something strange about it. In the past, there was no electricity, no special advancement, candles were in demand. However, now that the times have changed. But the strangeness is still there.

The sun goes down and the moon comes up

The moon rises, and somehow, the world has changed. There is darkness, but it cannot explain the whole thing. And even though, the world remains lighten up; still the emotions turn violent. Words that seemed harmless during the time becomes heavy at night. A song suddenly starts to feel personal. A memory appears from the dustbin, and disappointment begins like a tragic incident. The night not only bring back those harsh moments rather make emotions stronger. The escapism does not work anymore. Yet, there is something we can look for - the moon. Yes, it has the power to make us fall in love with everything.

The Smokey FOOD

Then there is food, even it feels different at night. Smoke rising from a grill looks cinematic to me. And it is the darkness which plays the biggest role in it. Without it, the smoke feels nothing but smoke. The food is there, but just to treat the appetite. Perhaps the darkness has the power to make us appreciate even the small sources of warmth: the coalish fire, the food and the people nearby.

The Sweetness

After the BBQ - tikka and kabab - comes what? Of course, the sweetness. Some desert, like this cake, is a must after the salty and yummy food.

The Ludo

Lately, we have been playing Ludo. This is fun for real. It demands some mind play and the luck element. The dice may or may not work in your favor, but you better let the mind do its magic. The whole place is lighten up, everyone is busy with their talks and games. Yet somehow, we all are still connected to each other.

And somehow, without realizing for the most part, the night that began with strange emotions ended with smokey food, a sweet cake and a serious battle of Ludo. At first, the moon made me think about memories, sadness and all those emotions that suddenly become dramatic after sunset. But by the end, my biggest emotional concern was whether the dice would work in my favor or not. Perhaps this is what makes the night special. It takes us on a rollercoaster ride, from deep thoughts to BBQ, from poetry to dessert and from emotional chaos to arguing over a board game. Forget about everything, all thanks to the night time, it gives us food, laughter and people to distract us from becoming a depressed soul.
