Trillium
Trillium wild flowers have come and gone for this season. I got a few photos recently.
There are two type in my area. The white with red splashes are Painted Trillium. The other is the solid red Trillium.
We found a group of Painted Trillium down by the lake.
This cluster of Red Trillium is in our back yard.
They are growing in front of a split rock.
Trillium are founded in shaded areas often on the edge of the woods. The woods they prefer are beech-maple-oak. Throw in some pines and thats exactly what you find around our part of Vermont.
Trillium hikes are a favorite part of spring. They bloom in mid to late May usually. The nature lovers grapevine around here usually lets us know when people are starting to see them 🙂
