July already
The summer passes so quickly. We are finally having some nice Vermont days. 50F's at night and 70F's during the day. Windows open all day and night. Really pleasant. First photo is some rudbeckia which is looking good this year. Last year not so much. This years cool and wet spring really has my flower beds looking great.
Gerbera daisies don't make it through the winter here. My wife got this one as a birthday present in November. She kept it over the winter and planted it outside unfortunately as an annual. We probably won't bring it in next winter.
Shasta daisies on the other hand are great perennials for our climate.
These roses are in a couple of places near the house. They have been here since I moved in. Not sure what type they are.
We have lots of blackeyed susan. They grow wild in the ditches and fields. I've transplanted some and other have been here from the original landscaping or just found their way into our beds.
It is July and the 4th has come and gone. Lots of flags in Vermont. Vermont has a strong history of military service. The local American Legion puts up flags at all the businesses in town.
More yellow flowers from my flower beds.
And more blackeyed susans.
This is the dollar garden. So named because we bought a bunch of perennials at the end of the season one year for one dollar a piece. They have filled in very nicely.
Here's a closer look at the bee balm. Its one of my favorites. I have another color in a difference spot but they aren't fully blooming yet.
We also have a few hanging baskets by the garden. I took this picture this morning in the morning light.
