Brickfest - A Charity Event to Support Alzheimer's Research [Eng/Deu]

After our gig on Friday was I rather tired in the morning and not up to much. The voice was slightly croaky, but it needed waking up nevertheless, because we had little festival in Hichin to attend on Saturday.

Brickfest was organised by our friend Kev to raise money for Alzheimer's; His partner works for the charity and he himself had a case in his family, so it's close to his heart.

Kev knows a lot of local musicians, and we're always very happy to attend and support. We had a bit longer than half an hour to play, the list of acts was long and exciting.

We always like to cramp in as much as we can and tend not to talk between songs, unlike at gigs where we like a little banter in-between.

We played our usual faster numbers plus Meatloaf's "Dead Ringer for Love", which is still in its early stages, I have yet to introduce my bass and we're still working on the overall layout, but it's already a lot of fun and the people's reaction is always amazing as it's not a song you get to hear a lot.

Nach unserem Auftritt am Freitag war ich morgens ziemlich müde und nicht zu viel aufgelegt. Meine Stimme war etwas heiser, aber sie musste trotzdem geweckt werden, denn wir hatten am Samstag ein kleines Festival in Hichin.

Das Brickfest wurde von unserem Freund Kev organisiert, um Spenden für Alzheimer zu sammeln. Seine Partnerin arbeitet für die Organisation und Kev hatte selbst einen Fall in seiner Familie, daher liegt ihm das Fest sehr am Herzen.

Kev kennt viele Musiker aus der Gegend, und wir sind immer sehr gerne dabei und unterstützen sie. Wir hatten etwas mehr als eine halbe Stunde Zeit zum Spielen, die Liste der Acts war lang und spannend.

Wir quetschen immer so viele Songs in unser Set wie möglich hinein und reden zwischen den Songs eher wenig, anders als bei Auftritten, bei denen wir gerne ein bisschen plaudern.

Wir spielten unsere üblichen schnelleren Nummern und dazu noch „Dead Ringer for Love“ von Meatloaf, das sich noch in der Anfangsphase befindet. Ich muss meinen Bass noch einbauen und wir arbeiten noch am Gesamtlayout. Aber es macht schon jetzt viel Spaß, und die Reaktionen der Leute sind immer wieder großartig, da man den Song nicht oft zu hören bekommt.
