Once Upon A Time

Am I dead?
I can't remember that I lived.
Have I lost my mind?
I don't remember when I saw it last.
Have we met or spoken before?
You say I'm familiar but looklike a thought from a dream.
I could be a cloud just floating along,
I could be a singer singing someone else's song.
As I grow older, the loss gapes more and more,
My heart gets heavier and the tears make oceans as they fall.
Mourning a life I'll never get back,
They say death is a heavy thing.
But yet don't see the darkness that slowly consumes my every inch,
The depths all but ruining me.
Slowly succumbing to the call of the night,
I could walk for hours to sleep under the sun.
Some say that I'm too serious,
Yet happily reflect on a life I no longer know.
This story is not my own,
This life is no longer mine.
But I will always be your sunshine,
Playing amongst these memories, This happiness sweetly moving, just the way I felt, once upon a time.
