Una visita inesperada: Cuidado temporal para 4 pequeños morrocoyes 🐢//An unexpected visit: Temporary care for 4 small red-footed tortoises🐢(Esp-Eng)
Hello everyone, greetings and welcome to my post of the day. I want to share what my brother found while cleaning the yard. He noticed a small tortoise, which we call a "morrocoy" here in Venezuela. After continuing to clean, he realized there might be more, and he was right! There were three more tortoises. The funniest thing is that the scene with him and the tortoises reminded me of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Master Splinter 🤭. Since there are four of them, we jokingly named them after the Ninja Turtles, but they already have homes, so for now, while they're at my house, they're called Domatelo, Rafael, Leonardo, and Miguel Ángel.
Look how small they are! One of them is smaller than the others, and that one is the most stubborn. There she is, climbing to escape. But I only put them in the water to cool off and eat. I have them in a little box because even the ants eat them, and I don't want to see that right now. Someone might step on them, and the way they are, that would hurt them a lot because their shells are so soft. I gave them water and food; the food is a plant called purslane. After a while, I put them back in the box.
I find them so cute when they're so small because they are so tiny. I've seen them when they've just hatched and they're even smaller. I'm not a big fan of turtles; I prefer dogs and cats. But I respect them, just like all animals. I think they're better suited to being free on land. But some people like them, like my grandmother, who loved them. In her yard, which is very large, I think there are about 200 turtles. They also have a terrapin.
While they're staying here at the house, I wanted to give them the care they deserve, and I felt the need to release them back into nature. But something that came to mind was how vulnerable they are at such a young age. And there are only four of them, and they're born one after the other, one after the other. I think they felt the earthquake too, and that's probably what made them come to the surface, and I don't blame them, because it was really strong. So, friends, do you also like tortoises, or are you like me and don't like them but still respect them? I hope you've stopped to read this post and that you've gotten to know the real Ninja Turtles 🤭.
