YES this song again. Should I stop? Look at the improvenment compated to older versions. That's the point. Is it better?
ANYWAY, these “Jazz Derelicts” like to perform once a month. I don’t mind. I like having time to learn the original bass parts before I get to the gig. It’s all forgiving and I can invent the bass part for a lot of the songs. However, I find it honorable to get as close as possible to the original part.
This philosophy seems to be serving me. I can only thing on one of two instances/songs where I took too far. I chose “licks” and original/superstar’s bass parts over groove and organization.

That’s all another story for another day.
