Bass In This Thursday Rooftop Poolside Place?

Happy Thursday!

It’s true. August 5th was a Thursday. Other musicians think it’s weird to preform on a Thursday. Nope, it's fun, and more to come.

We are on the roof of a famous building… called... uhh... it has a new name... HWH Luxury Apartments.

This was once the tallest building in DTLA. It feels like it too. Familiar architecture, moldings, frames, windows, thresholds, sconces, chandeliers and all the stuff…

I'm gonna make bass boink all of it. A lot.

WE SETUP

We are standing on floor tiles. The bass will resonate through the floor. Everything will resonate a lot. It's good to know this while forming an impression of an appropriate volume. Fortunately, the audience is near us.

My bass amp has a satellite speaker. I place it on the other side of the stage/drummer and it allows clarity, presence, and definition without magnitude of decibles (volume). Bass, I want rude and hypnotic bass we can all feel, without being fired.

Several people have asked me about it. The audience sees everything, EVERYTHING... 😰😬

New drink tradition!
We are starting to bring our own snacks. Not everyone feeds musicians. Musicians are not entitled to it. “Perks don’t pay rent.” Food is always appreciated. All that being said, they graciously offered us boutique burger. We were glad to accept. Yum. No picture. Too slow. Me eat. Food make go.

These mineral waters are refreshing to us all. Put your weed in there. This is key lime.

I highly recommend this simple and refreshing combo. I don’t usually get the flavored version of mineral water, but this was fine.

This turned out to be a long one. They asked for overtime. More??? Hmmm… okay, but let’s take a break first.

It's getting dark and being on the roof top in LA is fun.

Someone said it's a popular roof top when ranked with the other locals.

Residents seem happy, owners take video and the party continues. Lighting is minimal and intimate. People don't really need to see us anymore. They like the Steel Parade music.
