Elections should be a battleground for ideas and political ideals of various political parties. The fight, among other things, should have materialized in a political slogan battle.
The political slogan is closely connected with the party's program and ideology. Therefore, the political slogans of each party should reflect 1. itemize the program and ideology. The problem is that almost all parties in Indonesia have no clear program and ideology.
As a result, in every moment of the election, political parties fail to formulate the right political slogans. Here and there we see the Legislative Candidate (Caleg) billboard, which in fact represents the political parties of each party, but the contents are empty and meaningless.
Most of the slogans are arranged with beautiful words, bombastic, and begging. But the words have no meaning and are unable to move the masses politically. Just look at the example: honest, clean, and trustful. This slogan is indeed very beautiful, especially if implemented, but very common, passive and abstract.
Worse yet, there are many candidates who have no slogans. But only with the word begging for support: "Please pray Restu", "Choose Me ..", and others.
Not a few non-creative candidates instantly copy-paste the slogans of famous politicians, such as Barack Obama's political slogan during the US presidential campaign: "Yes We Can". There are also those who adopt the jingle or slogan of famous trademarks.
