Travel Digest #795

Introduction

Hi everyone lizanomadsoulHive account@lizanomadsoul here with the weekend edition of the #traveldigest. Hope you are all keeping safe from the Covid-19 wherever you are. Now that everyone's movement is a bit restricted and you have more time staying in, it's the best time to write about your travels and pin them onto the Steem Worldmap. And don't forget, with the lower Steem price, you also end up with more Steem and SP at payout!!!

All featured posts will be put on the Editors Choice Map and upvoted by the steemitworldmapHive account@steemitworldmap team and by blocktradesHive account@blocktrades.

#1 Under the seduction of Rio de Janeiro - Part II by sofathanaHive account@sofathana

My fourth day in Rio de Janeiro was to visit the monument that most identifies the city and perhaps all Brazil: the Christ the Redeemer, that giant statue located in the metropolitan heart of the city, within the Tijuca National Park. I took a bus to the Cosme Velho area, there is the entrance to Corcovado, the 710 meter mountain where it is located.

#2 Tales of the Urban Explorer: Barkerend Mills Part Two by slobberchopsHive account@slobberchops

Walking up the steps and into the ground floor, we looked around at the scene unfolding before our eyes. Where to walk? The floor looked desperately unstable with huge pits in places revealing voids of blackness. I have clambered up some dodgy stairs in my time but these were a little much. Surely there was an easier way to ascend?

#3 Trip to Forte de São Francisco Xavier - Castelo do Queijo | Portugal by aleisterHive account@aleister

Coming from Matosinhos beach, leaving Anemona and the transparent building behind, we will now enter the area where the São Francisco Xavier Fort, also known as Castelo do Queijo "Cheese Castel" is located, the last name being attributed to the fact that it was built on a granitic formation in the form of cheese. It is located in the parish of Nevogilde, in the municipality and district of Porto, in Portugal.
