August 15th -- Steemit Ramble #165 -- Curating Great Posts for You
Yes, it has been a while since I did a Ramble. Life gets in the way sometimes. Hopefully, things are in a better place for at least the time being.
Has been interesting exploring the various posts I read through before sharing these. One upside of the price of STEEM being down is a lot of the spammers and shit posters have gone dormant or left the platform. This creates an opportunity for the better content creators to actually be seen.
@zen-art puts forth an interesting argument for the value of free speech even if it offends some. She differentiates between free speech and hate speech which is not acceptable behaviour. The content is well written. Be prepared for a long read, not only is the post long and well thought out but, unfortunately, she uses long blocks of text that should be broke into smaller, easier to read paragraphs. The quality of the content did draw me to slog through them though.
The Ulog concept that @surpassinggoogle created sure has caught on. @maquemali has taken on a project of creating handcrafts from some of Terry’s quotes. Very creative @maquemali.. Nice work.
@rhondak shares with us about who she is on and off the platform as she prepares to head to Toronto in September and Poland in November. Nothing like having a resident coon lady.. That’s sort of the wild animal version of a cat lady right?
@scottshots posts about a struggle many professionals go through. The potential client who doesn’t really value their work and thinks it’s okay to want a big discount. It’s always a struggle how to respond to be firm without driving business away. Actually, it’s not so much that the person doesn’t hire them but to not have the professional being bad mouthed to others. Along with an interesting discussion, @scottshots has shown us some great shot’s he’s taken for others.
@pennsif originated the concept of the @adollaraday project to help fund charitable projects on the blockchain. This post documents the $3,000 in funds distributed in July and lets you know how you can join curation trail setup by @cryptocurator to help support the project.
@bluefinstudios daily posts have become one of my favourites. Not only for the often stunning photos he shares but the short but often powerful messages which accompany them. In this post, he’s been inspired to ask about reincarnation.
@beautifulbullies shares her progress using Intermittent Fasting as well as awareness of which foods have an affect on her when she eats them. I tend to avoid eating refined sugar. Like @beautifulbullies when I do eat refined sugar there is a period of discomfort. We don’t realize the impact until we detox our bodies from certain foods.
Anyone who has been around The Writers Block or has looked at @rhondak’s posts knows about Glory the raccoon that thinks she’s a pet or possibly even a mini-human. @gmuxx has captured her in cartoon form here. I’m with @negativer, this needs to be a comic series @gmuxx.
So we’ve had @steempress, a plugin which lets you write on your self-hosted wordpress blog and it publish on the STEEM platform. Now, we’re going to see a WP forum plugin to allow WP bloggers to monetize a forum on their site. Millions of sites are operated with WP around the world. Some of them very large active sites which would make this plugin a viable monetization method for blogs and increase the value of the STEEM platform. This is a project worth keeping an eye on.
@seablue explores the struggle toward being creative so many of us experience. Creativity doesn’t just arrive naturally and in copious quantities, it has to be nurtured as part of our being to continue to bring forth ideas. A great read on the subject.
@lymepoet explores the topic of perspective and how it can impact our lives. She’s examined the concept from many angles in an organized manner. Excellent post.
It’s not often I will feature the same author twice in the Ramble but today is the exception. @lymepoet has done a great post here on Decebalus and how it came to be along with some really excellent photos.
@snook has created a great tutorial for anyone who posts their recordings to Youtube. She explores how to organize your videos on your Youtube account and in the process increase your viewership. If you set things up right, people finding your videos on Youtube can bring them to Steem.

The Steemit Ramble is a manual curation project written by @shadowspub since August 2016. She scours the blockchain to locate and share the best posts so you don't have to. Every day many quality posts disappear on the blockchain leaving their authors frustrated they aren't seen and readers just as frustrated trying to find them. This curation project brings readers and authors together.
How You Can Participate?
As hard as she works, @shadowspub doesn't find all the best. You, as a reader, will find posts that have been missed and really should be seen. You can take a part in bringing these posts to light and earn a share of the post they are published in.

When you find a post visit the Ramble discord and submit it to the #nominate-someones-post channel by writing a short nomination
It's that easy. I review each submission. Those I select will receive credit for the nomination, their nomination will be part of the entry in the Ramble and they will receive a portion of the SBD earned when the post pays out.
