From tilting to seedling - the wait is over.
It took a little patience to see our rice seedling coming out nicely. If you have remembered I posted earlier, how see an opportunity with the weather and tilted a little area on our field to sow rice seeds. And after 15 days, I went again to check upon the seedling and it gave a nice greener look. The tilted area has turned into a fresher Greener look.
I always said that our farming is predominantelly depends upon the weather cycle and also it taste the patience of the farmer. Farming is the ultimate patience game because you are entirely bound by nature's biological timelines. Unlike instant digital or industrial gratification, a seed planted today takes months to grow, forcing you to endure seasons of waiting, daily nurturing, and unpredictable weather without immediate results. Farmers constantly battle uncontrollable variables like rainfall, droughts, pests, and market prices. Patience means persevering through setbacks when nature doesn't cooperate. This year is nothing different as we are reeling to face nature El-nino effect. This has caused many farmers to think about doing farming this year. Me and my uncle too thought over this. There is already a shortage of rainfall. But we are ready to take the risk and planted the seeds few weeks ago I already shared the detailed post earlier. Rather than using any heavy machine. We made use of the bullock to tilt an area of the farming land and them spread out tye seeds for seedling. It was a manual effort.
It was a hard decision, seeing no rainfall in sight. But luckily, we had some rainfall in the next couple of days. Allowing tye seeds to settle down in the soil and allowing the essential water and moisture to the seeds to grow into seedling. Now after visiting the sight I am relived with our risk. But the risk is still exist. With no adequate rain , we unable to sowed these seedling into the field. For the time being the green sight on my field gave little amount of satisfaction. Just because there are very few people in our village who took the risk, and it turned out good for them. Rest people sowed the seeds after the rain and they are still waiting to see their seedling.
The seedling look nicely but we need to take care of them from start cattle. They often graze upon these fresh leaves. We used to check upon the seedling twice in a day, just to ensure it remain safe. Many people consider farming an easy job, but there are challenges and one can measure the depth of it, only when they get into it. We are still hoping for a good yield in future, but it all dep3ndd upon the weather. If we get good rain then it take a day to plant these seedling into the fields. But if there is no rain, then these were get damaged. Planting seeds required a wet field and with proper rain, planting can not be done. Hope to see a greener year ahead with good harvest for the season.
In good faith - Peace!!
