Hello, world (I'm user eleventy billion)

This is my introduce myself post, as I've been informed is the custom in these parts.

I'm a sci fi writer; I believe in ghosts; I can't walk in high heels; I have a terrible singing voice; I'm older than dirt; and I'm often late to the party.

Being late isn't always a bad thing. Sometimes it means that means I arrive just as people are feeling loose and already dancing.

Other times, it means that I get interested in cryptocurrency just as Bitcoin halves, and the party's broken up.

But, it's OK. I'm also stubborn. I took my lack of foresight as a boon. I mean, at this point, I won't get rich (probably). Therefore, it means there's nothing (literally) to lose. Especially when a global pandemic gifts me with time.

Nothing to lose, and a buncha time to not lose it in.

And I'm documenting it, for the benefit of both those later than I and for experts who like giggling at noobs fighting monsters way above their level (or cheering on scrappy underdogs. Potato, potato).

Since March, I've cobbled together a tiny, baby portfolio (srsly, small. But mine!) that I'm really proud of, and I've gotten enough knowledge to form...opinions.
