A New Beginning

A new beginning is not a new beginning; it is just a continuation of the previous in a new dimension. You could also say it is a new beginning in the long run but yet you still end up doing the same thing same as the previous year.

We all wished we could go back and start all over, but that not possible. We have made mistakes we are currently not happy we did. Yesterday is a lesson for today, and today is the foundation and building blocks of tomorrow. Use yesterday and a marking guide to improve on today and tomorrow, then use today as a textbook and life guide for tomorrow.

When you don't focus too much about the past, you will have a successful today, and a better tomorrow. To have a better today and tomorrow, you must have a plan.

Planning makes things more comfortable, and you end up achieving a lot without regrets. I am not happy with the way 2018 ended, and it was all my fault, but I will say it as a result of inexperience. I made a lot of money in the early quarters of 2018, and at the last quarter, I was left with nothing and was severely affected by the dip.

I had no savings; I had this belief of living for today and tomorrow will take care of itself. It worked that way to some extent but did not pay me. In conclusion, you have to have a plan, and I know I won't make this kind of mistake because it will serve as a guide for me.

Consistency! You all want a better year but you not consistent. You were not consistent with what made you better, productive and more knowledgeable. When you are consistent with what you do, you will improve on your previous works and doings.

When you keep doing what you are good at, you will improve significantly; you will gain experience. Been consistent means doing what you are doing in the same way. But note, if you keep doing the wrong thing over and over again, that not consistency, that been foolish(sorry for the foul language). Do the right thing over and over again, improving, and trying new things is consistency.

I will say I was not consistent in 2018. I am a Graphics Designer, and I could say I was not consistent. I could number the jobs or design I did in 2018; it is poor. Compare to other friends who are graphics designer. I was not consistent.

As a result, my creativity skills reduced. I would design once a month which didn't help. I was not practicing. I Lacked consistency. One has to be consistent with what one is doing.

To end the story, I will say a new year gives you an opportunity to improve on the previous one, don't just mark the years, but make an impact while marking the year. Then it can be called a new beginning.

I can say I am starting a new beginning because I have planned on improving my skills and making 2019 a better one. During the last months of 2018, I have taken so many tutorial courses on both writing and designing to help me have a better 2019. I am improving and will be consistent with both.
