The storm and the selfie

Particles of dust flew by
the birds trying to fly home
waves crashing one after another
dogs barking in panic
the seaside that looked abandoned
even the peanut sellers trying to leave
the air that smelled of danger
and the dark clouds that threatened to burst
amongst this
the ignorant human and his device
standing lonely on the beach
trying to take a selfie
when the waves crashed near his feet
he never cared to think
trying hard to send his photo
to get more likes and comments
on the social media pages
his feet were wet
it didn't matter to him
the pull became strong
and he turned to look
was it too late to run?
