QC Weekly Community Contest #168 [ENG/ESP]My Thoughts on Divorce

Greetings, great people of Hive!
I trust you’re all having a wonderful week. Welcome to another exciting weekly contest on the QC Community.

This week’s topic touches a sensitive issue affecting many families in our society today — Divorce.

Divorce is the legal dissolution of a marriage, often arising from irreconcilable differences. These
conflicts may stem from infidelity, poor communication, financial challenges, or domestic violence. When a marriage stops functioning as it should, it becomes emotionally draining for both partners. In such situations, one party may eventually consider divorce as a last resort.

Now, to the questions:

Would you get a divorce?

There is a popular Igbo adage that says, “No one climbs a tree and tells people to prepare medicine in advance because they will get injured.”
This means no one enters marriage with the intention of getting divorced. I certainly wouldn’t. However, if marital pressure or crises become unbearable and completely irreconcilable, divorce may become the only viable option. Every marriage faces challenges, but not every challenge should lead to divorce. For me, divorce would depend entirely on the severity of the situation.

What would be your reasons for getting a divorce?

The major reason I would consider divorce is abuse or violence, because life is far more important than marriage. Other issues such as infidelity, lack of communication, or financial problems can be worked through with patience and commitment. While infidelity can also be emotionally and physically dangerous, I would choose separation and withdraw from intimacy until there is clear and genuine change.

Would you get married again? Why?

If I were divorced and had no child from the previous marriage, I might consider remarrying. However, if children are involved, I would rather remain single, focus on raising them properly, and enjoy my peace of mind.

How many times would you get married?

I pray to marry only once. But if circumstances force otherwise, the maximum number of times I would consider marriage is twice. If it fails the second time, I would accept that marriage may not be meant for me.

In conclusion divorce is not a desirable option, but it can be considered when problems become irreconcilable and threaten one’s life, peace, or future.

Thanks for stopping by. See you in my next post 🌹🌹🌹
