The Weird Time to Be Learning Anything
There is something strange about trying to learn today. Every time I open my laptop, I feel like I am already behind. AI is everywhere, people call it vibe coding like it is cheating, yet almost every experienced developer I know uses AI in some way. The real learning has not disappeared though. It has just shifted. It is less about memorizing syntax and more about understanding concepts, building mental models, and knowing how systems fit together. The tools can write code, but they cannot build the structure in your mind.
Lately I have realized I enjoy visual node based workflows much more than writing everything from scratch. Tools like n8n and TouchDesigner make sense to the way my brain works. When I mention TouchDesigner, most people have never heard of it, and that is fine. Blender became a household name because of its community, but TouchDesigner feels like a much bigger playground where programming, visuals, audio, music, 3D, editing, and live performance all come together. That is the direction I want to explore, along with post production. Maybe the goal is not to chase what everyone else is doing, but to get really good at the things that make you want to keep creating.
