Building a Modular TouchDesigner Network Like Photoshop Layers

Overview

Photoshop artists rarely flatten everything into one image. Every visual element lives on its own layer.

TouchDesigner can work exactly the same way.

Instead of building one long chain of operators, create independent branches.

A clean workflow looks something like this:

Base Image
Texture Layer
Glow Layer
Edge Lighting
Atmospheric Effects
Typography
Accent Graphics
Final Composite

Every branch starts from the same source image and contributes something different before everything is merged together.

This makes experimenting incredibly easy. Want to replace your texture? Change one branch.

Want stronger lighting? Adjust only the glow branch.

Want to remove the atmosphere? Disable one Composite TOP.

Thinking in layers instead of effects makes your TouchDesigner projects feel much closer to professional compositing software.
