What's the hype about Pi Network?

First of all, I want to talk about something which is completely different, the thing that I am talking about is Pi Network

A lot of people who are really completely hyped about this token so what I completely did I done some research and found out that it could be promising.

So I did some digging and found this statement about Pi Network

About this Pi Network is a mobile crypto currency application. You can mine PI COINS on your mobile by just tapping on ThunderBolt button every 24 hrs. This concept is developed by Stanford University PhDs.

And here is the amount that I have obtained so far

And one question does remain is wether to keep on short or long term? I will prefer to keep in-between the short or long term and if the price is in my favour then maybe yes.

What do you all think is this a hype or what?
