Take me out to the ball game….

Afternoon everyone…..

We are back home. Our flight home landed just before midnight last evening. I’m quite shocked because we actually arrived thirty minutes earlier than scheduled. Which is not typical for any returning flight for me!!!!

The last five returning flights for me have been either delayed or diverted. So we were extremely happy to not be either on this flight home. It was the biggest plane I’ve ever been on. I don’t know the plane model but it was a row of 3 against the window, a row of 5 in the middle with another row of 3 by the opposite window. Over 300 passengers.

Our final day in California was packed. But today I’m focusing on what we did at night. I had bought tickets for us and Brian to see a Dodger game. It worked out perfectly for me because my team the Boston Redsox were in town. I got us great seats, first level first base side. Which is the visiting teams dugout side.

Brian picked us up at our hotel on the way in. I had prepaid for parking making it easier.

It’s a beautiful stadium. Dodgers stadium is the third oldest stadium after Fenway Park in Boston and Wrigley Field in Chicago. The build began in 1959 and completed in 1962.

The above pictures were taken while on our way to our seats.

It was an extremely hot day with a high of 105, luckily for us the game started at 7:15 as the sun was going down. You can see the sun in the picture above just barely showing above the stadium as we were walking in.

The Redsox came out of the gate hot and scored three runs in the first three innings. Then the Dodgers came back and took the lead on a two run homer by Shohei Ohtani. It was a no doubt blast over the right field fence right past where we were sitting.

The last picture above is the plate appearance that he hit the actual home run.

But my Redsox put up a five spot in the top of the seventh with two two run home runs. 😎

By the end of the seventh inning, a lot of the Dodger fans started leaving. Fair weather fans……🤣 Brian said it was because of the traffic, of course Mr. Dodger fan…. (Only joking) the traffic is a nightmare in all of the parts of California I was in so I understand completely.

The Sox’s tacked on an insurance run in the ninth inning. Making the final Redsox 9, Dodgers 4. Yes I was quite happy!!!!

There was traffic leaving, but being from New Jersey and going to many sporting events in my life, it was not as bad as I’m used to locally.

The game was our last event of our vacation and was a nice send off. We basically slept, packed up and headed to the airport after that.

It was a fantastic trip which we both enjoyed greatly. I’d like to thank Brian again for taking the time to meet up taking us gold prospecting and joining us for a game. We got to enjoying meeting his family out for dinner as well Thursday night. Great people, great times. Thank you
