Homemade Cabbage Vada Curry
Today in the boredom of lockdown, me and my mom decided to make something new, as such we went into YouTube and couldn't find anything good. Just when we found this old recipe from my grandfather, and decided to make it.
First wash the cabbage thoroughly, then chop the cabbage finely.
Pressure cook or boil the cabbage and then drain all excess water from the cabbage.
Then add corn flour, Chickpea flour, Cumin seed and ginger paste, chili powder, smashed potatoes (To hold all of it together) and salt to taste.
and give it a good mix.
Make Vada-like balls of it and either pan fry or deep fry them.
Next, is making the actual curry, Add some oil and heat it up, then add a bay leaf.
Once the oil is heated, add a Paste of, Cumin seeds, onion, Posto (Poppyseed), Ginger and garlic.
Next add in some coconut milk, which you can make at home by grinding up coconut and purifying it to get coconut milk.
After that add in some chili powder and some Turmeric powder for color, then cook the Masala for a bit.
Lastly, Add in water and our cooked Cabbage Vada's, Cover it for a bit to let the Vada's absorb the flavor and then serve hot with rice or roti! Enjoy.
