I solved an urgent network problem.
Yesterday, I had to face a very troublesome situation while working. An ATM booth suddenly received an 'Out of Service' call. After the text appeared in large letters on the screen, the banking service was naturally stopped and the customers had to suffer temporarily. Solving such technical problems is always a bit challenging, because the specific reason behind it cannot be confirmed at the beginning.
After going in front of the machine and doing some initial tests, I myself was in a dilemma. Since there was no specific error code or clear signal on the ATM screen, there was no way to understand with the naked eye where the problem actually was. I wondered in my mind, was the outage due to some hardware or internal mechanical problem of my machine, or was the main reason behind it a network problem. Sometimes the machine behaves like this due to server or connection errors.
Anyway, without taking any risks and with the aim of resolving it quickly, I called the people in charge of the network and invited them to the booth. After they arrived, we jointly started testing the entire system thoroughly. For quite some time, we tried to identify or mark every point of data cables, routers and connections. Finally, we were able to find the main problem.
It turned out that the problem was not actually inside the ATM machine. There was a major fault in the landline connection of the face plate on the wall of the booth. Even some parts of the internal LAN cable or wire were badly damaged and disorganized, due to which data exchange was completely disconnected. The network team then decided to completely change or change the faulty landline module of the face plate. They very skillfully punched a new RJ45 module and connected it to the line and repaired the damaged cable.
After installing the new module, the network signal became active again. Finally, the ATM machine reconnected to the server and the normal functioning message returned to the screen. After hours of stress and hard work, it was truly a relief when the booth was fully ready to serve customers again. While these minor complications of professional life can be a bit of a hassle, successfully resolving them can bring a different kind of joy and experience.
This was my arrangement for today. I hope you liked the pictures I took and the nature observations. Wishing everyone good health, I bid you farewell here today.
