I put in a good amount of effort yesterday and today to implement a few new features in the game—nothing too drastic regarding gameplay mechanics, but rather improvements to communication and new choices for players.

Here’s what has been updated so far: full support for multiple languages, a new in-game settings menu, and a second reward mode that allows you to receive HIVE directly as a stake—meaning you receive it straight as Hive Power (HP).

Settings Panel

A new Settings menu has been added to the player name dropdown in the header—right where your username and wallet balance are displayed. In it, you can:

• Choose the interface language (EN / PT-BR / ES)
• Choose the reward mode when watering your trees

Preferences are saved on the server and automatically restored when logging in on any other device.

Supported Languages

To avoid letting the game grow before implementing language selection—which would certainly have been a much bigger task—I decided to tackle this early and create the structure for language configuration. Hive Grove is now available in three languages:

• 🇪🇸 Spanish

Language switching happens in real-time, without reloading the page. All game screens have been translated: the grove, shop, friends, social network, purchase modals, rewards, tree information, and much more.

Reward Mode: Stake (HP / Power UP)

In addition to liquid HIVE, it is now possible to receive watering rewards directly as HIVE Power (HP). While it may seem like a small amount at first, over time—and as your trees grow—your daily total could exceed 2 or 3 HIVE going directly into your HP.

A way to grow without much effort: simply log in, make your claims, and watch your trees grow. It starts small, but the numbers eventually become larger and more impressive.

The mode can be toggled at any time in the settings, and the current mode label is displayed in the result modal after each watering. Just remember to change this setting before watering your trees to ensure you get the expected result.

• Auto-focus on the username field on the login screen
• Character limit for sticker messages increased from 35 to 40
• Layout fix for the dropdown: the Portuguese word "Configurações" was causing a line break, so I made a small adjustment to prevent this from happening.

Technical architecture

Internationalization was implemented using a custom hook (useT) that reads keys from language-specific JSON files, with an automatic fallback to English. Strings with parameters use simple substitution: t('key').replace('{param}', value). Each component instantiates its own const t = useT(), adhering to React's rules of hooks. ---

These changes make Hive Grove more accessible to players from different countries and pave the way for easily adding new languages ​​in the future. They also give players the freedom to choose whether they want their rewards in liquid Hive or directly as HP.

Each small detail might seem minor, but when viewed as a whole, it’s clear that everything makes a difference. Often, simply having the game or website available in your native language makes you more inclined to invest your time and stick around, saving you the hassle of dealing with awkward translations.

Painel de Configurações

Um novo menu de Configurações foi adicionado ao dropdown do nome do jogador no cabeçalho, ali onde fica o nome de usuário e quanto Hive você têm em sua carteira. Nele você pode:

Modo de Recompensa: Stake (HP / Power UP)

Além do HIVE líquido, agora é possível receber as recompensas das regas diretamente como HIVE Power (HP) e por mais que pareça pouco, com o passar do tempo e o crescimento de suas árvores, o total por dia poderá passar de 2 ou 3 Hive diretamente indo para o seu HP.

Uma forma de crescer sem muito esforço, apenas entrar realizar os claims e assim crescer, como suas árvores. No começo tudo bem pequeno, mas depois vai se tornando números maiores e mais chamativos.

• Limite de caracteres nas mensagens de figurinha aumentado de 35 para 40
