[Writing Contest] Finish the Tale. Story #68

The summer house smelled like salt and sunscreen, and something else she couldn’t quite remember. This was what she kept repeating to her family.

Every summer vacation, Ann and her friends spend few days in her farm house, amidst the forest area. This was a routine schedule until one summer vacation they heard some mysterious sound followed by a faint smell

Though they ignored in the beginning, the smell was in air every night, making it a monotonous night giving an eerie experience, for the entire team nembers.

Out of curiosity, Ann and her friends decided to stay together in the farm house for another one week. Each of the friends decided to take turns and stay awake at night.

And finally the smell started fading gradually reducing the fear among friends to a certain extent. Things started getting normal, when one night they had a severe bang at the door, which kept continuing for a minute.

Ann and her friends took courage to open the door and was shocked to see, what was in front of them. It was a pile of salt , with a foul smell causing nausea among the friends. A far, they saw a fugitive and fainted.

The next morning wasting no time, they hurriedly packed their stuff and left home. But none of the friends remembered what happened the previous night, except for the foul smell.

Ann was never able to recollect her eerie experience and once and for all never visited the farm house again.

Just a cooked up story to enhance the story of writing for the said prompt.
