Missing simpler joys

When I was a child, one of my birthdays stands out vividly: I simply invited a few friends over, and my mom quickly whipped up noodles, chole bhature, sandwiches, and pakoras on short notice, ordered a cake, and the party unfolded effortlessly in all its joyful simplicity.

Now, my kid’s birthday merely a month away, we find ourselves scouting gaming zones and exploring elaborate options, only to realise how expensive and fancy everything has become.

I truly miss those simpler days 😊
